Bed of the Dead2

BED OF THE DEAD is coming to us from Black Fawn Films, the same people who brought us ANTISOCIAL, THE DROWNSMAN, and BITE. BED OF THE DEAD is most definitely a throwback to 70s and 80s era of horror films, and when done right, that could be a pretty fun movie-watching experience. Here’s a more detailed plot description:

Two young couples out for night of debauchery at the city’s oldest sex club find themselves stuck on a haunted antique bed where getting off means suffering a gruesome fate. Upon calling the police they are connected with a skeptical detective who informs them that he is currently investigating the death of four young people at the same sex club in the same antique bed! Plagued with frightening hallucinations, they must figure out the bed’s secrets before they are picked off one by one.

Sounds like it could be interesting. This is Jeff Maher’s directorial debut and he talks about the inspiration behind the idea for the film:

“I remember as a child running and leaping into my bed to avoid being grabbed by some terrible thing underneath. I was a good 60% sure there was a ghoul down there who wanted to consume me. These sorts of very real fears are dismissed as we get older but they never really go away, they hide in our unconscious. In making Bed of the Dead I wanted to explore these childhood fears because really… you don’t know if there is someone under your bed, or in your closet, watching you sleep. Bumps in the night, sleep paralysis, home invasion…the bedroom, the place where you sleep, it’s where you are your most vulnerable…to the ghouls.”

I always like it when a writer takes the road less traveled. At some point in our lives, we have all been scared by what might be under the bed, but what about what is in the bed?

BED OF THE DEAD is set to drop sometime later this year (no definite date as of the writing of this article). and there’s no trailer yet for this one, but I’ll keep you updated.

Stay Bloody!!!
