Friday the 13th Reboot to Include the Entire Voorhees Family

Friday the 13th1FRIDAY THE 13TH seems to be the franchise that producers are determined to remake over and over again. The 2009 remake was a friggin’ train wreck, and this upcoming reboot is already sounding pretty damn sad. According to, the producers of the upcoming reboot have confirmed appearances by the entire Voorhees family.

We now have official confirmation from the powers that be working on the Friday the 13th reboot film that Jason’s entire family will be shown on-screen, as the pop culture icon’s origin story will be further explored in this remake than in any other movie in the franchise.

Are audiences demanding having a better, more in-depth explanation as to Jason’s backstory? The article goes on to explain:

Friday the 13th2

Previously, producer Brad Fuller verified that Pamela Voorhees would be in the movie as part of an all new origin story for Jason. In a more recent interview with Yahoo, Fuller and co-producer Andrew Form elaborated on that further, confirming the rumors that Jason’s father, Elias Voorhees, would also be showing up in the movie.

After Fuller clarified that we were going to meet the Voorhees family, Form revealed who exactly that would be in this statement: “We’re going to meet the family. You’re gonna meet Pamela, Elias, and Jason. And you’re gonna see how it all happened.”

I hope the writers here get creative and don’t give us a standard origin story. I don’t want to end up seeing a father beating his deformed and retarded kid before leaving, thus creating an over-protective mother and a passively-aggressive, violent son. Come on, writers, give us something good!!

Stay Bloody!!!
