World War Z 2 Gets a Release Date

I still have mixed feelings about the original WORLD WAR Z. Admittedly, I didn’t really enjoy the book all that much. The film is entertaining, but the ending was very flawed and the CGI zombies were terrible. Earlier today I saw someone on Facebook make the joke that the third WORLD WAR Z film could be titled WORLD WAR Zzz!! Ha!!

But there is indeed a sequel on its way and there’s now a release date for it. Paramount is putting the sequel out on June 9, 2017, putting it in direct competition with FANTASTIC FOUR 2. This date also assumes the production doesn’t run into any production complications the first film ran into.

No details have been released about the plot, but I think it’s safe to assume that it’ll be about zombies. Maybe the writers will elaborate on the zombie cat in the first one (see the image below).
