SDCC 2017: The Horror in San Diego

Another day, another dollar and another year that I missed San Diego Comic Con! Even though I wasn’t able to participate in the festivities at the biggest comic con of the year doesn’t mean I didn’t get to see all the goodies the con had to offer. Thankfully, SDCC is an all encompassing con with multiple nerd genres represented, which means there was plenty of horror to go around!

Here’s a little rundown of the horror related items you may have missed or just want to revisit again.

The Walking Dead came, saw, and zombified SDCC with their Walking Dead Encounter, panels and comic con trailer.

The fanbase for SyFy’s original show, Wynonna Earp (Melanie Scrofano) is growing, due in strong part to the shipping of Wayhaught (Waverly (Dominique Provost-Chalk) + Officer Haught (Katherine Barrell) ). Not familiar with the show? Checkout their page on SyFy and their panel.

With the release of The Duffer Brother’s Stranger Things, no con is complete without their presence, which was in abundance this year. Fans got to see the Season 2 trailer as well as take a tour of the Byer house.

The PoP Funko booth has always been the hot ticket area at SDCC due in large part to their con exclusives. For horror fans they had The Walking Dead’s T-Dog, a bloody Steve from Stranger Things, Dean Winchester in his Impala, a Scooby Doo Box Pop! Tee and Loungefly’s Stranger Things backpack. If you were unable to visit their booth, click here for a rundown of what they had to offer.
