Operator (2013)
As I peruse along Twitter every once in awhile I will get a request to review a horror film or book and since I’m always on the lookout for new horror I am happy to give their projects a view. That is how I was introduced to Sam Barnett’s short stop-animation horror film OPERATOR. It’s the story of workers, who end up infected by a parasitic bug unleashed by the corporation they work for, InfoCorp. Going into this short I wasn’t sure what to expect, but what I got was a creepy, well crafted slice of horror that anyone can appreciate it. At only a little over seven minutes in length this stop motion animation horror packs a punch.
I’m not the only one who enjoyed OPERATOR, it currently has over half a million views on YouTube and was featured on Reddit and Vimeo. Which has left the audience and it’s creator Sam Barnett wanting more…..which thankfully may happen due to a current Kickstarter. Make sure you help spread the horror by checking out this kickstarter, which explains the process involved with stop motion animation, the film’s incentives, the trailer and the full length short. There’s no time like the present to become part of OPERATOR!
Check out the OPERATOR’s Kickstarter page, and be sure to follow writer-director Sam Barnett on Twitter for updates.
