Teaser Drops for Last of the Manson Girls
One of my favorite indie horror filmmakers Lonnie Martin dropped me an email earlier today announcing that a new teaser has dropped for a project he’s working on. The project is a ten-part web series titled, THE LAST OF THE MANSON GIRLS. This is based on Paul Krassner’s essay, “My Acid Trip with Squeaky Fromme.” Martin has his fingerprints all over this web series, which plans to finish principle photography by July 20, 2015. Martin is the series’ director, writer, and co-producer. He also tells me that this has been a passion project of his for quite some time. The series stars Elliott Kashner, Jen Bevan, Cindy Marie Martin, and Sarah Taurchini. Check out the plot crunch:
In 1972, counterculture journalist Paul Krassner, convinced there’s more to the Manson murders than meets the public eye, embarks on an LSD tinged investigation of the last of Manson’s disciples: Brenda McCann, Sandra Good, and Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme. Were the Manson Murders a CIA conspiracy? What he finds could change how the world sees the 60s… if he lives long enough to tell the story.
I know, I know … not exactly a horror story, but the subject matter sounds like it’ll delve into some pretty horrifying subjects. Besides, I’m always up for a good conspiracy-thriller!! Martin assures me that there’s plenty of “scary, trippy shit in this thing.” No release date has been set, but plan for this one to drop in Fall 2015. Check out the teaser:
I’ll keep you updated as more info becomes available.
