David Lynch Returning to Twin Peaks Revival on Showtime
Today’s a day for a damn fine cup of coffee and a slice of cherry pie. It seems all the talk a while back about David Lynch bailing on the Showtime revival of TWIN PEAKS was just that: a lot of talk.
According to Deadline.com, here’s what Showtime’s David Nevins had to say about the situation:
“This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark (Frost) and David tastes more delicious than ever. Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Preproduction starts now!!”
So it seems we’ll be getting more than the previously announced nine episodes of TWIN PEAKS, but no details yet on how many more episodes we’ll get. Back in April 2015, things looked grim when Lynch said he was pulling out of the TWIN PEAKS project over money issues. Showtime immediately released a statement that said the money issues were being worked out. It looks like they have!! The revival is written by both Lynch and Frost and I’m liking that pre-production has already begun. TWIN PEAKS is currently slated for an early 2016 premier.
