First Stills Drop for the Icy Horror Film, The Dark Below
Yeti’s, Nazis, and serial killers. What do all these things have in common? They all turn the snow bright red with blood. And if director and co-writer Douglas Schulze has his way, his new film will be included on a list of snow killers. Co-written with Jonathan D’Ambrosio, THE DARK BELOW is an experimental horror film made to keep viewers on the edge of their seats and gasping for air.
THE DARK BELOW is a chilly, submerged “survival thriller set mostly beneath a frozen lake as a diver tries to stay alive while a killer lurks above.” The film stars Veronica Cartwright, Lauren Mae Shafer, and David G.B. Brown, and was shot in the dead of winter at Michigan’s Great Lakes (where temps can reached below twenty degrees). What’s more, Schulze promises that there are only three spoken words of dialogue in the entire film!!
No word yet on a release date. The film is currently making the rounds of the horror film festival circuit. More news on this one as it becomes available.
I’m really curious to check this one out. The setting sounds perfect for a claustrophobic horror film. What do you think?
