Poltergeist Remake Gets a New Release Date

In the not too distant past (mid-January 2015, to be exact), I reported on some plot developments of the upcoming POLTERGEIST remake. But even in January 2015 the producers didn’t have a release date set. But now they do and it seems we won’t have too long to wait after all. The POLTERGEIST remake is directed by Gil Kenan, is written by David Lindsay-Abaire, and stars Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jared Harris, Saxon Sharbino, Jane Adams, and Kennedi Clements. A family’s suburban home is invaded by angry spirits. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and take the youngest daughter, the family must come together to rescue her.

It appears as though 20th Century Fox and MGM have decided to release the Sam Raimi-produced remake on May 22, 2015. We can only hope that the POLTERGEIST remake is half as good as the EVIL DEAD remake.
