Are You Ready for Lavalantula??
LAVALANTULA. Just let that word soak in for a few seconds. Yes indeed this is a movie coming to the SyFy channel that pairs together the product of an active volcano and a tarantula. LAVALANTULA!! The SyFy channel commissioned this low-budget “mockbuster” flick about giant lava-spewing tarantulas. Ya gotta love the SyFy channel!! In the film, giant lava-breathing tarantulas erupt out of a dormant volcano which is found under the Santa Monica Mountains in Los Angeles. Filming has already wrapped and the SyFy channel is expected to air it in some time this year.
LAVALANTULA is directed by Mike Mendez, who directed 2013’s BIG ASS SPIDER, and stars Steve Guttenberg, Leslie Easterbrook, and Michael Winslow … yup … three of the stars of POLICE ACADEMY. Nia Peeples, Danny Woodburn, Patrick Renna, and Ralph Garman also star.
I think that’s all that needs to be said on LAVALANTULA.

Wait, didn’t SyFy claim they were going back to making science-fiction shows and series’, because branching out into this sort of nonsense hadn’t really worked for them?

Maybe they changed their minds after the runaway hits, SHARKNADO& SHARKNADO 2!!! But some of their rent TV series have been really good!!
