New Still Drops for Kevin Smith’s Yoga Hosers

Yoga Hosers1Writer-director Kevin Smith is at it again. If you thought Smith’s mind couldn’t get any weirder than one man turning another man into a walrus well you better think again (and sit down). Smith’s follow up to TUSK, and what he’s calling his True North Trilogy, is YOGA HOSERS. The cast is full of well-known actors but the plot is focused around two yoga enthusiasts, Lily-Rose Depp and Harley Quinn Smith, who reprise their roles from TUSK. Check out the plot crunch & the new still to the left:

The film centers on 15-year-old yoga nuts Colleen Collette (Lily-Rose Depp) and Colleen McKenzie (Harley Quinn Smith), who have an after-school job at a Manitoba convenience store called Eh-2-Zed. When an ancient evil rises from beneath Canada’s crust and threatens their big invitation to a Grade 12 party, the Colleens join forces with a legendary man-hunter from Montreal named Guy Lapointe (Depp) to fight for their lives with all seven chakras, one Warrior Pose at a time.

The film also stars Michael Parks, Justin Long, Génesis Rodríguez, Haley Joel Osment, Ralph Garman, Harley Morenstein, Tony Hale, Natasha Lyonne, Austin Butler, Adam Brody, Tyler Posey, Stan Lee, Kevin Conroy, and Jason Mewes. I know a lot fans hated TUSK and I’m not sure why. I thought it was terrific. Smith handled the material really well and successfully walked the line between horror and absurdity. But say what you will about Smith and his films, at least he’s out there giving the genre some original films. I think Johnny Depp’s character of Guy Lapointe is one the best new characters I’ve seen in a long time.

YOGA HOSERS is slated for a June 1, 2015 release.

Stay Bloody!!!

I’m not sure why people didn’t like Tusk either….it was truly horrifying and made you question your sanity! I will admit that the walrus suit was a bit hard to believe, but at least they were trying to do things practically instead of with a bunch of CGI crap! I’ve enjoyed his movies immensely and look forward to this next installment. I’m excited!
