Tom Holland Takes on King’s The Ten O’Clock People

Tom Holland, the iconic horror director of CHILD’S PLAY and the original FRIGHT NIGHT, is no stranger to adapting and taking on Stephen King projects. He took on THE LANGOLIERS (on the small screen) and THINNER (on the big screen) and is now taking on another King short story, THE TEN O’CLOCK PEOPLE, from King’s collection, NIGHTMARES AND DREAMSCAPES. Here’s the very brief plot crunch:

The story follows Brandon Pearson, who in trying to kick his smoking habit uncovers a frightening aspect of reality he plans to extinguish through extreme measures.” Holland remarked that “this film will be a modernization of the original short story, a paranoid suspense piece.”

Filming is set to begin late this summer (September 10, 2012) with a 2013 release. Deadline.com is reporting that Justin Long is in negotiations for the lead role and “would play Brandon Pearson in the modernized adaptation of the Stephen King short story.” You know Justin Long from starring opposite Bruce Willis in LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD and DRAG ME TO HELL. I’m liking Holland taking on another King project. I think he did a solid job with THE LANGOLIERS and THINNER, and his CHILD’S PLAY and FRIGHT NIGHT (original) are horror classics!!

More on this one as it develops.

Stay Bloody!!!

I’m intriguied by this…that story is creepy as heck! I’m just not sure about Justin Long in the lead, but there will be time to change that (I hope).
